Are you a fan of driving rhythms and catchy riffs? Do you love a thunderous baseline and songs with an infectious chorus'? Then you will love Black Bear Kiss. They are a five-piece indie/alternative rock band from the Midlands that formed in 2016. The band members include lead vocalist Chris Leach, Colin Haden on lead guitar complimented by Rob Jones on guitar, Rich Sach holding everything together on the bass, and Chris Bagnall rounding off the five-piece on the drums. Their latest single is perfectly named 'Hooks' opening with a catchy drumbeat and rhythmic riff from the off the single's title does exactly what it promises. The intro reminds me of The Black Keys and The White Stripes with the same toe-tapping, driving rhythm and sound. The band take many influences from the absolute legends themselves The Rolling Stones as well as Led Zeppelin with hints of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The intro leads into an exhilarating chorus with lead vocalist Christ Leech passionately proclaiming the lyrics aided by the impressive backing vocals gluing the chorus together. There's no doubt this is a singalong chorus, a proper old fashioned rock and roll song. Full of hooks, catchy crunchy guitars and a lively chorus, there's simply nothing not to like about this tune. Black Bear Kiss are clearly talented musicians and great song writers and in this single the whole band are all working as one and really click with each other. They've got their own trademark sound, that has given them a new, original identity as a band, they definitely have their own 'Black Bear Kiss' style. A brilliant rock'n'roll single to blare out at full volume! Spotify: Black Bear Kiss
