Marsicans - An effortlessly brilliant bandAnother exciting up and coming band from Leeds, who on first glance completely fill the typical boy-band look: an quartet of lads well dressed with crazy hair flailing everywhere, but they are far from typical and are producing exceptional music. Marsicans were unearthed to me when supporting Hippo Campus on their UK tour and I was instantly blown away by their enthusiasm and tireless energy which left behind a lasting impact and hooked me in to become a huge fan of this brilliant band. They own every stage they take to and always deliver a scintillating performance, picking up new fans everywhere there go. They bring a cheerful, youthful vibe offering exquisite harmonies that have been perfectly assembled, with vibrant rhythms and roaring guitar riffs, the Marsicans are musically assured. They have become distinctive with their unusual hazy, nasal-like vocals, and their latest release 'Wake up Freya' is no different from the exclusive sound we've come to expect from them. Their single 'Friends' from 2017 has to be my favourite song yet, an electrifying song with a crisp guitar sound which is punchy, melodic and undeniably catchy! The harmonies dance together adding to the sentiment the lyrics hold, the opening lines "Have I got all my friends? Or am I losing them one by one" gives you a small glance of what to expect. As this band await a busy summer of festivals, they are definitely one of the coolest bands to watch right now. They are effortlessly brilliant. The future can bring only good things for this hardworking, feel-good indie-band from Yorkshire who's harmony-laden sound makes them one of the brightest bands emerging in British music right now!
