Future Fires // RunningFuture Fires are the self-described dark indie rock band, who were born in the backstreets of Birmingham. They are back with their latest single 'Running' and it's their most ambitious and radio-friendly track to date. If you missed our post last year than catch up with Future Fires' previous releases here: Midnight Sky. Future Fires are inspired by the likes of indie giants such as the Editors, The White Stripes and the rough-and-ready rock of Royal Blood which makes them a band full of exciting riffs, thumping beats and catchy chorus'. Describing their latest single they said: 'It’s a nihilistic love song about futile escapism. It’s very cinematic sounding and has a unique mix of 80s and modern production. It’s a dark exploration of young love and where that can lead. We really went to town on this one and even managed to crash an ‘un-crashable’ computer in the studio due to our many layers and effects: something we are extremely proud of.' This single is cleaner sounding than some of their other tracks with more of mainstream feel in the chorus but a great track that makes you want to get up dance. We have said before this band were one to keep and eye on and I think this single shows we were right. Overall 'Running' shows exactly what Future Fires are all about making good music, nothing too fancy just a good tune, take a listen here: soundcloud.com/futurefiresband/running
